In 16 years as a strategic advisor, Allen's teams have won multi-billion dollar fights, from better health care that is more affordable to fights to save our planet. Our wins include: the only Indian American in the 113th Congress; the first openly gay U.S. Representative from New York; the first openly gay mayor of Lexington, Kentucky; the first Black U.S. Representative from Nevada; and the first Black U.S. Senate nominee from Florida.

Cristina Parrinello
Partner and President (she/her)
Cristina Parrinello is the President of Nesbitt & Parrinello, Inc., where she advises political campaigns and corporate leaders on strategic research, public policy, and cybersecurity. In 2018, Cristina's campaign work included serving as a lead consultant to John Chiang for Governor (CA), EMILY's List, and the winning campaign for Gil Cisneros for Congress (CA-39) -- the most expensive House race in the country. She began her political career in 2010 working on former U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer's re-election campaign. Cristina has advised Am Law 50 law firms and Fortune Global 500 companies. Prior to her political work, Cristina worked at the LBJ Presidential Library and as a litigation paralegal. Born and raised on U.S. military bases overseas, Cristina grew up on Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands and is now living in Nashville with her two sons.

Opposing Anti-Abortion Judicial Nominees
Under the Trump presidency, a large national organization focused on reproductive justice engaged Nesbitt & Parrinello to compile background reports on judicial nominees. Armed with detailed documentation of nominees' records on choice, LGBTQ+ rights, religious refusals, and voting rights, our client mounted informed opposition to anti-abortion nominees to judicial seats at every level. Later, under the first years of the Biden presidency, our client utilized this same information to advance pro-choice nominees.
Uncovering Special Interest Influence by Fossil Fuel Companies in Trump Infrastructure Projects
One of the nation's leading watchdog groups enlisted Nesbitt & Parrinello to uncover evidence of malfeasance, graft, corruption, and improper influence by fossil fuel companies petitioning for Trump Administration infrastructure projects. Our investigation identified revolving door staff relationships between prominent oil and energy companies and the administration. After locating ties between investors and key stakeholders within these special interest groups, we traced their correspondence with the Trump administration and constructed a timeline of the Trump Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's actions in their favor. Our hard-hitting reports unveiled a web of personal and professional connections between the very highest levels of the Trump administration and corporate giants operating within the fossil fuel industry.
Assessing Election Threats in Virginia
In collaboration with a major election protection organization, N&P conducted public records research to identify local officials in Virginia in election administration roles who engaged in election denialism, obstruction, or otherwise harbor anti-democratic tendencies. We reviewed news and social media, federal and state campaign finance, and board meeting minutes and votes to identify election denial and voting rights red flags for over 300 officials. Our research assisted our client in raising a public alarm over election denialism.
Exposing School Board Members Putting Politics Before Students' Needs
In 2023 and 2024, Nesbitt & Parrinello worked with the Pipeline Education Fund to produce a first-of-its-kind report that exposes Florida school board members promoting book bans, anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric, and curriculum censorship. We evaluated news and social media coverage, public statements, affiliations with extremist organizations, and board policies to compile an unprecedented dataset to keep Americans informed of their school board members' positions. N&P also worked with the Pipeline Education Fund to produce a report identifying the 30 school districts in 12 states most responsible for pushing book bans, anti-LGBTQ+ policy, and educational censorship.
Helping Clients Assess The Major Financiers And Actors In The Anti-Abortion Movement
In 2022, Nesbitt & Parrinello worked with philanthropic partners to produce a landscape analysis of the Michigan anti-abortion movement, detailing the movement's financiers, key personnel, and overall strategy. N&P's inventive use of grantmaking, campaign finance, and personnel data painted a compelling picture of the anti-abortion movement's strategies, as well as the tens of millions of dollars flowing in and out of the movement. Additionally, our research revealed substantial ties between the movement and extremist groups in Michigan, like the militia members who conspired to kidnap Gov. Whitmer. Using N&P's research, pro-choice strategists will be able to effectively target the more mainstream elements that may be inadvertently supporting the anti-abortion movement, with the ultimate goal of starving the anti-abortion right of its mainstream legitimacy.
Climate Action for LCV in a Federal Campaign
Nesbitt Research powered wins for the League of Conservation Voters in a dozen campaigns and a major issue action project on climate change. Our strategic research focused on telling the powerful story of today's climate deniers who honed their skills in the tobacco battles two decades ago. In their “Web of Denial” campaign, LCV used our research to drive the successful message of the link between the tobacco and climate science deniers. The campaign included live Twitter campaigns, Medium and other social media pieces to generate massive buzz for the client. It all started with powerful research.
